There definitely seems to be plenty of spirits and supernatural beings associated with cairns, both on Orkney and the Scottish mainland, and the haugbui of Norway too. The impressions we came away with of its presence there, its personal nature, its skittishness, and understandable concern over our presence there all align with descriptions I've just read this week of an Orkney Hogboon, given by Ernest Markwick. I'm on the trail though. You are right to associate Trow with Troll. [They are the same] Companions of the Seer/Seeress. Absolutely, the physical description is accurate enough and for so long i believed what i was seeing was a haggard old man in the woods. I incurred a 30 lunar year curse for my encounter after being attacked when i cut down a fir tree at a fairy ring. I've encountered the serpent and demon dog also. Druids used the Trow because of their knowledge of the ages and they keep guard over mounds and fairy rings appearing @ Quarter days. Note.. the lunar cycle two weeks either side of a quarter day is the active time. If i were to eye up the Star Sirius which appears for only 70 days or so from 21st June on our Southern hemisphere and map a line from the East Antrim coast were my grove is it would run straight through Stonehenge, up the valley of the kings in Egypt, through Ethiopia [were the fabled arc of the covenant is said to be held and guarded] linking 3 cultures spanning the ages to a fixed point in the sky. That ley line runs through the most haunted places in Ireland. Another source for you is a book called ''The Secret Lore of Magic'' by Idrias Shah. If you purchase a copy online, wrap it in yellow cloth. [Protection] I'm attempting here to link you to information you may find helpful and if you like i will photograph the grove for youAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6268906151061835777.post-12270973732370478532016-08-04T21:48:25.208+01:002016-08-04T21:48:25.208+01:00Very interesting indeed! Also, the Trow you've met, would you say they fit the folkloric physical description? That's the first Trow sighting I've heard of in many many years, good to know they're still out there! I landed back first from a height on the flint arrowhead edged with silver above a doorway on a dome/igloo shaped structure. The bruise resembled the sacred heart in Catholicism. [Brought the prayers out of the Nuns at school] I've had numerous encounters with Trow at a location on the East Antrim coast in Irealnd. The mumbling you refer to by Trow as they move is the word ''Dresemili'' being repeated. They [Trow] cannot gain motion or flight without it. An early warning sign of their approach if you listen out for it. Certain Druids who practiced in woodlands by water/sea had control of Trow. Considered a demon along with the phantom dog and the serpent. The book by Brian Day ''The Celtic Calendar'' is an excellent source on Trow as is yours. My personal story would go beyond 10.000 words. I'm very interested in this topic. Well done for putting the time in, there is not much written about them.
